Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out how to strengthen the accessibility of information for the elderly by using network analysis. The data used in the study are from the Survey of the Elderly in Seoul, which was conducted in 2016 on 3,058 elderly people by the Seoul Welfare Foundation. We used a network analysis, for which we constructed network data by age group of the elderly and the type of information required. This study found that there were differences in network structure according to age. The Internet was the most influential in the information media network of the elderly aged 65-69 years, and in the information media network of elderly individuals aged 70 and older, people and print media were the most influential media. Also, according to the type of information, the media with high influence in the information media network was different. Based on the research results, we discussed ways to strengthen information accessibility according to the life cycle and information needs of the elderly.
